Pakistani security forces killed at least 13 terrorists in separate intelligence-based operations (IBOs) carried out in Balochistan’s Kohlu and Kalat districts, the military said on Saturday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of the Pakistan Army, the operations were conducted on December 24 and 25 following intelligence inputs about the presence of militants belonging to outlawed insurgent groups in the region.
During the operations, security forces engaged the militants, resulting in the killing of 13 terrorists. A large cache of weapons, ammunition, and explosives was also recovered from the sites, the ISPR said.
The operations were carried out as part of Pakistan’s ongoing counter-terrorism campaign, “Azm-e-Istehkam,” which aims to eliminate insurgent threats and restore stability in the restive province.
Security forces have intensified intelligence-based operations across Balochistan to curb militant activity and prevent attacks on security personnel and civilians. Further details are awaited as investigations continue.
