Ahmedabad Schools Evacuated Over Bomb Threat; Authorities Confirm Hoax

Bomb Threat at 10 Ahmedabad Schools Turns Out to Be Hoax

Ahmedabad authorities conducted thorough searches at 10 private schools on Wednesday after bomb threat emails prompted precautionary measures, but no explosives were found.

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police, Zone 1, Harshad Patel, the schools received emails warning of bomb blasts during the afternoon shift. Since the morning session had already concluded, the schools declared afternoon holidays as a precautionary measure.

Police teams, including the bomb detection and disposal squad, dog units, and anti-sabotage teams, conducted detailed searches across all the schools. “Nothing suspicious was found during the searches,” Patel said, confirming that the threats were a hoax.

The cybercrime department is investigating the origin of the emails and trying to identify those responsible. The exact contents of the emails have not been disclosed as the investigation is ongoing.

No injuries or damages were reported, and the authorities urged schools to remain vigilant and report any suspicious communications immediately.
