Delhi Pollution Levels Spike Amid Winter Smog

The national capital is once again grappling with severe air pollution, as smog and particulate matter levels have surged during the winter season. Air Quality Index (AQI) readings have reached the “very poor” to “severe” category, posing serious health risks, particularly to children, the elderly, and people with respiratory issues.

Authorities have advised residents to avoid outdoor activities, wear masks, and use air purifiers where possible. Steps such as restriction on construction activities, vehicular traffic control, and increased monitoring of industrial emissions are being enforced to combat pollution.

Experts have also warned that weather conditions like low wind speed and temperature inversion are likely to exacerbate the smog, making urgent government action and public caution critical in the coming days.
