The Andhra Pradesh government has suspended 26 panchayat secretaries for failing to properly collect and upload data on the “Swarna Panchayati” digital portal. The decision came after officials discovered widespread discrepancies and incomplete entries across nearly 3,000 village units. The suspended employees were found to have neglected key administrative duties, affecting the accuracy of rural development records.
Authorities have ordered a departmental inquiry and instructed district officials to strengthen monitoring mechanisms to prevent such lapses in the future. The government emphasized that maintaining transparency and timely data reporting is essential for ensuring the success of rural welfare programs and effective governance at the grassroots level.
