Major ₹20,000 Crore MoU Signed with Hinduja Group

The state government, led by N. Chandrababu Naidu, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Hinduja Group committing an investment of ₹20,000 crore in areas including power generation, renewable energy, and electric vehicle manufacturing. As part of the deal, the group will expand a thermal plant near Visakhapatnam by 1,600 MW, develop large-scale solar and wind projects in Rayalaseema, and set up an EV manufacturing plant and charging network in Krishna district.

This initiative is being positioned as a key step in Andhra Pradesh’s ambition to become a hub for clean energy and electric mobility. The government has emphasised single-window clearances and accelerated execution as a part of its “speed of business” agenda.
