ATM Thefts Rock Nizamabad, Residents on Edge

Residents of Nizamabad remain tense after burglars targeted two ATMs in separate incidents early Saturday morning, stealing a total of ₹35 lakh. The thefts occurred under different police station limits, prompting heightened security and an intensive investigation by the police.

According to reports, the first incident took place at a DCB Bank ATM in Pangra under Town IV police station limits. The burglars, equipped with gas cutters and wearing gloves, allegedly broke open the ATM machine and decamped with around ₹25 lakh in cash.

In a similar incident, thieves targeted an SBI ATM at Varni Chowrasta under Town V police station limits. The suspects reportedly sprayed chemicals on the surveillance cameras inside the ATM to disable them before damaging the machine and stealing approximately ₹10 lakh.

Following information from local residents, senior police officials rushed to the spots, inspected both ATMs, and gathered details from bank staff regarding the stolen cash and security arrangements. Clues teams and local police units have stepped up their investigation.

Police have also intensified surveillance across the town, with all vehicles entering and leaving Nizamabad being thoroughly checked as part of efforts to track down the culprits. Further investigation is underway.
