Philippines Confirms Indian National Among Bondi Gunmen Who Allegedly Visited Country
Manila/Sydney: Philippine authorities have confirmed that Sajid Akram, 50, an Indian national and Australian resident, spent nearly the entire month of November in the Philippines, along with his son Naveed Akram, 24, an Australian national. The pair are alleged to be the gunmen behind one of Australia’s deadliest mass shootings at Bondi Beach, Sydney, on December 14, 2025.
According to the Philippines Bureau of Immigration, the father traveled on an Indian passport, while his son used an Australian passport. The two allegedly arrived in the Philippines on November 1, aboard Philippine Airlines Flight PR212 from Sydney to Manila and then onward to Davao.
Authorities continue to investigate the pair’s movements during their stay, as officials examine possible links and activities in the Philippines leading up to the tragic shooting that shocked Australia.
A video screen grab shows the two gunmen dressed in black, firing multiple shots on the Bondi Beach bridge during the attack.
