Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) has taken a landmark step in social inclusion by inducting 20 transgender personnel into its security services. The new recruits have successfully completed their security training and will be deployed at select metro stations and onboard trains.
The initiative not only strengthens Metro security but also reflects the government’s commitment to empowering marginalized communities through meaningful employment. Women passengers, who make up around 30% of Metro commuters, will benefit from enhanced safety, comfort, and confidence with the addition of trained personnel.
