Gold Rises, Silver Falls Ahead of Fed Policy Decision

Mumbai: Gold prices edged higher to Rs 1,30,638 per 10 grams, while silver eased to Rs 1,82,600 per kg on Monday as investors remained cautious ahead of the US Federal Reserve’s year-end policy meeting.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), gold futures for the February 2026 contract rose by Rs 176 (0.13%) to Rs 1,30,638 per 10 grams in a business turnover of 13,134 lots. Silver, meanwhile, witnessed a slight decline despite support from industrial demand and tight global inventories, as early profit-taking weighed on prices.

Traders are closely watching the Fed’s policy outcome, which could influence precious metal trends in the coming days.
