A young woman was brutally murdered in Borabanda on Sunday night, sending shockwaves through the locality. The victim was allegedly attacked by a man known to her. According to preliminary investigations, the accused lured the woman to meet under the pretext of a discussion and later assaulted her with a knife and a stone, stabbing and bludgeoning her to death.
Police revealed that the victim, identified as Fathima, and the suspect, Zaheer, were acquainted and had previously met at a pub in Banjara Hills. Investigators suspect that differences arose between them after the woman recently changed her workplace, leading to reduced communication.
The Borabanda police have detained the suspect, registered a case, and launched a detailed investigation to ascertain the exact circumstances leading to the murder. Further details are awaited.
