Sub-standard laddu prasadam sold in Vemulawada shrine

Devotees visiting the renowned Sri Raja Rajeshwara Swamy temple in Vemulawada, Telangana, have recently raised serious concerns over the quality of laddu prasadam being distributed at the shrine. Several pilgrims have complained that the laddus, which are offered as sacred prasadam, were of substandard quality—reportedly stale, poorly prepared, and lacking the traditional taste expected from a temple offering. Some even reported an unpleasant smell and visible signs of spoilage, triggering outrage among devotees who consider prasadam not only as food but a sacred blessing.

Temple authorities are facing mounting pressure from devotees and local leaders to investigate the issue and ensure accountability. Concerns have been raised about hygiene practices, the procurement of raw materials, and the involvement of private contractors in prasadam preparation. In response to the growing criticism, officials have promised to conduct a thorough inquiry and take corrective action to uphold the sanctity and standards of the prasadam that holds deep religious significance for millions of devotees visiting the historic temple.
