Sri Anumula Revanth Reddy

Anumula Revanth Reddy (born 8 November 1969) is an Indian politician from Telangana and the current Chief Minister of Telangana and President of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC). A prominent leader of the Indian National Congress (INC), he represents the Malkajgiri constituency in the 17th Lok Sabha. Known for his fiery speeches and strong grassroots connection, Revanth rose from student politics to become one of the most influential political figures in Telangana.

Born in Kondareddypally, Mahabubnagar district, to Anumula Narasimha Reddy and Ramachandramma, Revanth completed his Bachelor of Arts from A.V. College, Osmania University in 1992. During his college days, he was an active student leader associated with the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), which shaped his political ideology. In the same year, he married the niece of senior Congress leader and former Union Minister Jaipal Reddy, a relationship that gave him closer exposure to national politics—though his political journey remained independent and driven by his own efforts.

Revanth began his formal political career with the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), winning the ZPTC election in 2006 and later becoming a Member of the Legislative Council (MLC) in 2008. He was elected as MLA from Kodangal in 2009 and again in 2014, earning a reputation as a strong opposition voice. In 2017, he joined the Congress, and by 2021, he became the TPCC President. His leadership revitalized the Congress in Telangana, culminating in the party’s victory in the 2023 state elections, which led to his appointment as Chief Minister on December 7, 2023.
